- Colorado requires that teens must be at least 15 ½ BEFORE attending the Enhanced Driver Awareness Program.

Driver Education Permit - Requirements include:
- Be between the ages of 15 and 15 1/2 years old.
- Show a completed Affidavit of Liability and Guardianship.
- Show a completed Affidavit of Completion of Driver Education Classroom Course within 6 months of applying for your permit.
Those who hold a driver education permit may only drive with a driver education instructor and the person who signed their Affidavit of Liability until they reach the age of 18. You must hold your driver education permit for at least 12 months.
Driver Awareness Permit - Requirements include:

You must hold your driver awareness permit for at least 12 months before you can apply for your driver's license. A driver awareness permit is valid for three years from the date of issue.
